Anyone know the process to registering a completely custom built car for road use (chassis and everything)? Also what is necessary to have (like headlights, etc) I need the info for a project I’m doing.

Kit car. I believe it must have the standard stuff, blinkers, brake lights etc.

I’d say just call the BMV tomorrow and ask them what the requirements are, if any.

For the chassis, you'll probably need a certificate of origin. Most chassis builders will be able to supply it. Then everything a lot car has... Headlights, brake lights, license plate light, etc. I would recommend going to the police station and asking as their usually be the ones to sign off for the bmv.

Honestly not sure. I don’t have any personal experience but I know some guys that build motorcycle frames on the east side of Indy and they have to supply a COO (cert of origin) with all their frames, with a serial number IIRC.

I highly doubt turn signals are required. I know they’re not on a motorcycle since you could legally just use hand signals.
